The course differs from standard ICAO preparation courses by including an additional set of vocabulary related to helicopter equipment, emergency situations during flight operations, ground operations, and pre-flight preparation.

What exams can a helicopter pilot take?
Helicopter pilots take the same exams as airplane pilots, as the tests assess English language proficiency rather than professional skills. All lexical and grammatical topics are listed in ICAO doc. 9835. However, helicopter pilots may find it somewhat more challenging to pass exams related to airplane flight procedures and to answer questions specific to airplane pilots.
